Who We Are

Mission — Help self-employed creatives and service-based individuals improve profits while regaining time and energy.

About Me

Since 2014, I have been a professional problem solver within engineering and data analytics. I love working with people to solve problems, build efficient systems, and curate analytics that actually have an impact. Despite a successful career, I couldn’t get behind the mission of most companies and that steadily ate away my energy.

Time slipped away as a I waited for weekends. I often disassociated watching tv or scrolling my phone after work because my energy felt too drained for anything else. I found myself trying to purchase my way out of my predicament without ever really feeling satisfied. The stress of faux urgency and constant overstimulation on top of products I didn’t align or care about, left me wondering if and what I should do next.

Then I got to thinking, what were things I love about my role?

  • Listen to people who had a real problem to solve

  • Brainstorm with them to figure out what was needed for them to take action

  • Set up the infrastructure to collect data for the action

  • Build a system that surfaces analytics needed for action

I’ve always admired people who followed an idea or a passion. I’m drawn to the energy and creativity they have for their craft. It’s so cool to see how their eyes light up when they talk about it. So I started talking to my friends who are tattoo artists, hair stylists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, photographers, dancers, etc. I found that, given the choice, they just want to draw, cut hair, massage, treat patients, take pictures, dance. If that is their craft, then working with data and solving problems is my craft.

This is why I created Tend & Balance Bookkeeping Services.

For me, this is the perfect blend of mission and skillset. Help self-employed creatives and service-based professionals improve profits while regaining time and energy.

This business is my way of addressing my time, energy, and profit. Could it be yours?
